Nuts: Not Only Brain Food – But Also Mood Food
For ages now, there have been countless researches dedicated to discovering whether certain foods can make one smarter. So began the belief that nuts and seeds provide the best nutrients that make the brain work better. Enhanced brainpower was what everyone believed they would get with regular munching on seeds and regular nuts such as almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts and hazelnuts, among others. But now, apparently researches are claiming that improving the brain function is not the only thing these munch-worthy food pieces do – they also make people feel better, in fact, happier.
Science explains that thinking too much can be likened to a tangle of different wires and strings in your head. This gives a person very little chance to concentrate and get work done, thus he or she may encounter more stress and fatigue.
This is where nuts and seeds come in. They work to enhance brain function and activity, and by doing so, they clear up the “brain fog” that people tend to experience in times of stress. Brain fog can be described as the inability to think clearly. Being able to think clearer allows people to get more work done, feel more productive, and at the end of the day, happier and more self-fulfilled.
Nuts and seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are necessary for brain and nerve function. Researches have stated that consuming very little of these friendly fatty acids could make a person more susceptible to depression and anxiety disorders. For a healthier mind, body and heart, snack on nuts whenever you can and be amazed with results.
